Minister reportedly collapses in IDPs camp

Taraba Election: S/Court gives reasons for dismissing Alhassan's appeal

The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Alhassan, reportedly collapsed on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) camp.

According to a report by ThisDay Newspaper, the ex-Guber aspirant in Taraba State, reportedly collapsed while addressing vulnerable IDP women inside a store in the Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa.
It was further reported that Alhassan arrived the camp in crutches and collapsed midway into her speech, but was quickly assisted to a chair and given a bottle of soda to revive her.
The report also claimed the minister had been diagnosed with Hypoglycaemia, which is a situation where a person suffers from low sugar, a problem that creates serious weakness of the body.
However, despite her state of health, Alhassan reportedly managed to explain her fact-finding mission to Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States to confirm the foreign NGOs’ allegation of violation of some girls and women at the IDPs’ camps in the North-east.
